"Phoenix Rising" is a handheld kaleidoscope by Marc Tickle. The body is glass over hand-painted art paper. This scope has a non-turning, oil-filled, side-lit object chamber which contains lampworked glass with a black background. On each side of the scope body there are light-collecting "windows" that filter the light as it enters the scope, creating changing internal colors that will vary depending on the angle of the scope to your light source. There is a larger than usual viewing port for easily seeing the internal imagery. Scope is a 4-mirror system and measures approximately 12-7/8"L x 2" in diameter.
