'Asanoha - Green' is a delightful handheld kaleidoscope by Japanese artist Kazuko Hayashi. The body was constructed of 4 bright green stained glass panels with a traditional Japanese Asanoha pattern of overlapping geometric hexagons that mimic the look of a hemp leaf and symbolize wishes for good health, growth, and longevity, and is often used in textiles, woodwork, crafts, and as a pattern on clothing for infants. Body houses a 2-mirror, 6-point system with an enclosed object cell that is non-turning, oil-filled, front lit with a translucent milky white glass background, and cell contains handmade lampwork glass pieces, mostly in greens, with a little touch of magic that will show flashes of colors in the beautiful "mandala-style" kaleidoscopic imagery this scope creates. Measures approximately 6"T x 1.75"W at the cell end. Signed (KAZU) by the artist.
