"Binocular Series - Teleidoscope" is a RARE COLLECTOR'S PIECE by American Artist Steven Gray. This piece is constructed of two barrels, side-by-side, with a handle and various wood accents. The wood is oiled and then buffed to bring out the natural woodgrain colors and patterns. Each barrel holds a 3-mirror, equilateral, triangular system, which produces repeating triangle patterns of whatever the binocular is pointed at. Using crystal gazing balls as lenses, viewing everyday ordinary objects becomes extraordinarily beautiful. The view inside extends peripherally and fills the entire field of vision. Just looking around in an ordinary room is enough to provide dynamic kaleidoscopic imagery but what is really fun is to point the Binocular Teleidoscope at a television or computer screen thats playing something colorful and just ... WOW. Less than 10 Binocular Series Teleidoscopes were created, each uniquely different from each other. This scope includes a wood resting stand with crushed velvet in forest green. Binocular Series measures approximately 11"D x 10"T x 8"W and is signed (S.J.Gray) and dated (1986) by the artist.
