"Candle" is a sweet little series of handheld kaleidoscopes by Japanese metal artist Mikks. The body of these scopes are made from brushed raw brass, accented with shiney snowflakes, dichroic glass diamonds, and fancy solder 'candle drips' under the non-turning, oil-filled, flame shaped object cells which are filled with handmade glasswork bits and pieces in a varierty of colors. Each scope measures approximately 5"L x .75" Diameter at the viewing end. *In 2018, Mikks encountered a kaleidoscope and was fascinated by it, and he is still thinking and searching every day to create a kaleidoscope that makes use of his own metal engraving skills. He won the Grand Prize at the 2nd "Kaleidoscope National Open Exhibition" in 2021.
