Product Details
"Cards" is a magical handheld kaleidoscope by Japanese artist Hiroshi Wakabayashi. The body was constructed from a clear acrylic cylinder that has a delicately textured, metallic hand-painted design on it's inside. The body features a single playing card, with 'The Great Wave Off Kanazawa' by Katsushika Hokusai printed on it. There is a turning, front lit, dry object cell containing (clear) birefringent bits & slices and teeny clear beads. This scope houses a 2-mirror, 10-point system which creates absolutely marvelous, polarized (rainbow color-shifting), mandala-style kaleidoscopic imagery. Note: if you move a light source at different angles into the object cell, the rainbow colors created will shift and change before your eyes, even without turning the cell at all, like magic! Measures approximately 7"T x 2" Diameter at the object cell end.
