Product Details
"Great Blue Heron" is a double parlor kaleidoscope by American artist Sue Rioux. The body was created with 3 panels of crinkly textured, glossy black glass, with a majestic Great Blue Heron featured on the front panel, beautifully created in stained glass. The body houses both a 2-mirror 12-point (mandala-style) and 3-mirror 12-point system, so you're getting TWO kaleidoscopes in one gorgeous piece. The turning, oil-filled object cylinder has two separated sides, both filled with an assortment of fascinating things including beads, dichroic glass bits, wires, shells, I saw a cool fluid-filled ampule ... and so much more! While all of Sue's creations are beautiful, I found the internal systems of this scope particularly wonderful, and personally, I think this is one of her best. Piece measures approximately 12"T x 8.5"W x 2.75"D. Signed (Sue Rioux) and dated (25) by the artist.
