Product Details
“Hiddenbox No. 288“ is a rare and marvelous handheld kaleidoscope by Japanese artist Masaki Yonaga. The body was created in an exquisitely perfect geometric pattern with stained glass, simply a gorgeous piece, but inside this body is where the magic happens. With a 4-mirror system, the non-turning, side-lit, dry, object chamber, creates absolutely delightful Kaleidoscopic images using tiny, delicate, handmade, lampwork glass pieces, with an orange background that coordinates with the body. Here comes the magic ... hidden inside this chamber are 4 dichroic glass panels, and depending on how light enters the chamber, the entire color scheme will completely change without even having to turn the scope! Included in the listing photos, you can see the same kaleidoscopic image on two or three photos in a row, but they magically look different just because the direction of the light has moved! Super fun and ever changing, try it with a flashlight, direct sunlight, LED or incandescent light, endless ways to see different variations and combinations. Titled (No. 0288) and signed by the artist. Measures approximately 6"Tall x 1.75"Square
Masaki Yonaga's scopes are generally only available in Japan but we've acquired "Hiddenbox" and are excited to exclusively have it available here in the States at Nellie Bly.
