"Indonesia" is a gorgeous handheld kaleidoscope by American artist Carolyn Bennett. Carolyn's vision is always searching for the unusual. In 1994, a trip to Indonesia brought her together with local artists on the island of Lombok. This hand carved bamboo kaleidoscope is the result of her collaboration. Body is hand inlaid bamboo, with a 3-mirror system, and a non-turning, oil-filled object chamber filled with tiny beads and baubles, and even a little monkey face. Each scope is unique so the animal motifs will vary and because bamboo is a natural material, slight irregularities of size and shape are also to be expected. This kaleidoscope is of the highest quality and is sure to give you years of viewing pleasure. Measures approximately 9.75"T x 2.5" diameter at the viewing end. Signed by the artist.
