"M.S. Series Swivel ~ Parlor" (collector alert!) is a sleek Kaleidoscope by master scope maker Glenn M. Straub. The beautiful body and base of this scope were created from hand-turned solid Oak hardwood. "Swivel ~ Parlor" can be enjoyed as a parlor OR a handheld kaleidoscope because it easily lifts from its base. The body houses a 2-mirror, 7-point system, with a turning, end-lit, dry object chamber that includes handmade, flame sculpted glass, fluid-filled ampules, and tiny antique watch parts, with a frosted white background. The internal mandala-style kaleidoscopic imagery is delicately vivid, crisp, and spectacular. Piece measures 13"T x 11.25"L x 3.5"Diameter at the cell end, 7"Diameter at the stand/base. Signed (Glenn M. Straub), named (M.S. Series Swivel~Parlour), numbered (#1 of) and dated (9/28/1987) by the artist.
