"Mariposa" is a gorgeous handheld kaleidoscope by American artist Sue Rioux. The body was created with iridescent black stained glass panels, reminiscent of Rainbow Obsidian, and features a beautiful, iridescent glass butterfly with copper filigree detailing on its wings. The body houses TWO systems, both a 2-mirror (mandala-style) and 3-mirror, so you'll get two kaleidoscopes in one very pretty scope! The spinning object barrel is highly adorned with dichroic (color shifting) glass slices, fused glass pieces, colorful pebble glass, and iridescent pressed glass pieces, and has fancy copper soldering. All of these together create bright and marvelous kaleidoscopic imagery. Piece measures approximately 9.75"L x 5.5"T and 1.5"W. Titled ("Mariposa"), dated (2025), and signed (Sue Rioux) by the artist.
