"Mosaic" is an unusual handheld kaleidoscope by Japanese artist Koji Yamami. The iridescent white stained glass body features a lovely mosaic design created with little rectangular bits of glass in a rainbow of colors. The turning, front and side lit, oil-filled, glass object cylinder contains handmade lampwork glass pieces and bits of iridescent and dichroic glass, and is finished with highly textured dichroic glass discs on each end. Inside the body is a 6-point, 2-mirror system that has been customized, so when you look into the scope you'll see a little cone in the center of the kaleidoscopic image and as you turn the cylinder you'll be treated to spectacular, spiky, mandala-style kaleidoscopic displays that feel other-worldly. Scope measures approximately 6.25"T x 3.75"W x 1.75"D and the object cylinder is 2.25"L. Signed by the artist on the back panel of stained glass.
