'Night on the Board' is a mysterious handheld kaleidoscope series by Japanese artist Akinori Nakamura. The body was created with 4 panels of clear glass featuring an underlying, pearly white, alligator textured paper and has black glass panels are at the viewing and cell ends. There is a dry, non-turning, filtered side lit, duel chamber cell containing handmade lampwork glass pieces. This is a 4-mirror system that creates lovely, detailed, and uniquely alternating pink & green "chessboard" kaleidoscopic imagery. Akinori states a novel by Miyauchi had inspired a chessboard design and so he has titled this scope after it. Measures approximately 5.25"L x 1" x 1" square. Dated (2025) and signed (A2N) by the artist.
