"Passport to Paris" is a large, fanciful parlor kaleidoscope by artists Judith Paul & Tom Durden. A metal "Eiffel Tower" structure props up a matching powder-coated, rotating and fully tilting, metal kaleidoscope that features a double sided/flip over, free turning, black backgrounded, oil-filled object cell, one of the first of this type of cell. One side contains teeny tiny buildings, a French poodle, a passport, coins, assorted Tour d'Eiffel towers, fleur de lis, artist palette, and other Paris themed items. The opposite side contains French inspired food such as a tiny cup of espresso, baguette, snail & oyster, corkscrew, cherries, wine/champagne, and assorted Anjou pears. The scope body houses a 2-mirror, 5-point system which creates fantastically whimsical, mandala-style, kaleidoscopic imagery to delight anyone that gazes into it. Entire piece measures approximately 21"T x 8"W at the base. Scope itself is 10.5"L x 3.25"Diameter at the viewing end and is numbered (144/150) and signed (@Judith Paul, T/D) by the artists.
