Product Details
"Spectrum" is a stunning parlor scope by kaleidoscope master, Marc Tickle. One of the nost beautiful scopes I've had the pleasure of photographing, this work of art is made of two textured glass panels with a third side in clear glass that shows you exacty what is happening inside. There is also a triangular viewing port at the top of the piece that gives the ultimate kaleidoscopic imagery when gazing in. There is colorful art featuring a traditional triquetra design. The turning, oil-filled, black background object cell contains Marc's own handmade, lampwork glass pieces, and dichroic glass bits. Scope is a 2-mirror, 4-point system and measures approximately 11.25"T x 6"W x 7"D, object cell at 2.25" Diameter.
From the artist; "I cut away a portion of both mirrors which creates the central pedestal, upon which is the moving mandala. The illuminated/decorated base inside, surrounding the central pedestal is drawn, painted and gilded. I made the initial sketch and color selections, then printed that design onto archival paper, then I go back and individually customise the rest of the design, adding the metallic paint and details such as the dots etc... the edition is made up of 25 pieces, but they are all different in the way I decorate and illuminate the base design."
Note: I did use a UV black-light for some of the internal photos because it was fun and gorgeous!
