"SteamPunk Skull" is a small and wickedly cool parlor kaleidoscope by American artist Steve Failows. The metal scope body has been created with 6 highly textured "rainbow onyx" stained glass panels, houses a 3-mirror system, and has been swivel mounted onto a small casting of a steampunk themed human skull that has been hand painted with metallic accenting throughout. The Skull has then been mounted onto a freeform base made of the same textured glass used for the body. There are TWO spinning object wheels created from various different (colored/textured/painted/dichroic) stained glass pieces, just give them a slow spin to see the kaleidoscopic imagery change before your eye. Note: if your move a light source (such as a flashlight) around the wheels without actually turning them, the design will still change and shift as the dichroic glass pieces have literal color-shifting magical properties! This fantastic little one of a kind piece measures approximately 7.5"T, the scope itself is about 5.5"L x 1.5"Diameter at the viewing end, the largest color wheel is 3.25"Diameter. Scope is initialed by the artist.
