"Wildflower" is an incredible parlor kaleidoscope sculpture by American artist Benjamin Birdsill. This gorgeous piece was created from Russian Olive, Manzanita, and Spider woods to become a tree straight out of a fairytale as it sweetly cradles a wood barreled scope that has a turning wild sunflower, carved from Maple wood, around the object cell, which is oil-filled and side-lit with a black background. Inside the cell are Ben's classic lampwork glass pieces in bright cheerful colors. The scope body houses a 3-mirror, 7-point system that creates absolutely spectacular flowing kaleidoscopic imagery. There is an additional hand carved tiny sunflower at the viewing end that serves as a lens dustcover. The piece also includes a little spotlight for illuminating the cell, it is rechargeable and brightness and cool/warm light adjustable, the charging cord is included. Piece measures approximately 14.4"T and 13.5"L x 10"W at the base, with the scope itself 12.5"L x 3.25"Diameter cell end. The underside of the base has an access panel to the light source in case maintenance is needed and you'll find the title (Wildflower), date (2025), and artist signature (Ben Birdsill) there as well. This is a stunning work of art that any collector would be proud to show off!
