"Alchemist" are colorful kaleidoscope collaborations by Japanese artists Jun Kojima and Rika Kita. Each of the differing handmade ceramic scope bodies are unique, freeform works of art. These are 2-mirror systems, each with a differing number of points, and they have oil-filled, non-turning, side-lit object chambers. Scopes measure approximately 5.5"L x 1.5" in diameter and each comes with a handcrafted wood stand.
Jun Kojima graduated from Tama Art University and has exhibited works in Karakow, Poland (2005). This artist considers making a kaleidoscope "alchemy", which leads the visitor to a different "dimensional world" the moment they look into the tiny eyepiece of his scopes.
