'Ancient' is an esthetically primitive handheld kaleidoscope by Japanese artist Ichiro Seino. The body is handcrafted in ceramic with an incredibly wicked matte glaze and golden metallic accents on raised areas of the mysteriously curious glyph-like design. The non-turning, dry, side-lit, black backgrounded, object chamber contains handmade glasswork pieces, bits of sea glass, millefiori glass slices, pieces of shells, assorted beads, dichroic (color shifting) glass shards, and other interesting items. This is a 3-mirror, 4-point system which creates absolutely gorgeous, full-view kaleidoscopic imagery. Measures approximately 9"L x 1.75" Diameter at the cell end and includes a custom made cradle to set this beauty on when not in use. Signed by the artist.
