'Anglerfish' is a whimsical handheld kaleidoscope by Japanese artist Hiroshi Wakabayashi. This scope has a copper body in the shape of a fish, complete with fins, and gold polymer clay accents with glittery bits. His face is adorable with googly eyes and a "lure" to help fish in his dinner. This scope has either a 2-mirror OR 3-mirror system and produces beautiful, clear, colorful, polarized (color shifting) imagery. There is a dry object cell filled with clear, colorless birefringent materials that change into colors when looking though the scope using various light sources. Try viewing in direct sunlight versus LED or incandescent lighting to experience the magic this scope produces. Hiroshi creates each of these adorable scopes by hand so some slight variations in the design can be expected. Measures approximately 6"L x 3"W and comes with a wooden stand.
