Product Details
'Bluebird Sky' is a large parlor kaleidoscope by American artist Sue Rioux. The scope body is a stunning work of stained glass panels, featuring 3 delightful bluebirds with tree branches and leaves on a sky blue background. Blue glass rods and decorative soldering embellish the scope design. There are TWO large viewing ports at the top of the body, each with its own mirror system inside, a 2-mirror and a 3-mirror, so you're getting TWO completely different images in one gorgeous piece. This scope has a large, rotating, soldered glass pebble and dichroic glass object barrel. The entire piece freely rotates 180 degrees on its wooden base. Measures approximately 14"T, 9"W x 3.75"D (at the base) and is titled (Bluebird Sky), dated (2018), numbered (4/5), and signed (Sue Rioux) by the artist.
Note: Consecutive internal photos of the object barrel set in the same position have had the angle of the lighting source moved, this shows the dichroic glass "color shifting" effect which increases the dynamics of the viewing experience.
