'Delysid' is a brightly reflective handheld kaleidoscope by Japanese artist, ISUNO. This pyramid shaped scope has four absolutely flawless tapered mirrors creating it's tall and elegant body. There is a non-turning and dry object chamber, with a textured, clear glass backdrop, and it's filled with the most delicate, tiny, and fanciful handmade lampwork glass bits and pieces I've ever seen. Delysid was the brandname for the first pharmaceutical-grade Lysergic Acid Diethyl-amide (LSD) commercially available as a psychiatrical research tool (in 1947), this scope creates equally mind-bending, intricate, and trippy 3-mirror, 5-point kaleidoscopic imagery. If you're a fan of scopes that create highly detailed images, this one will not disappoint. Measures approximately 11.25"T x 1.75" Squared at the object end and is signed by the artist.

From the artist; "Combining introversion and extroversion, it is both chemical and rational, and clearly unconscious. Thought and emotion. Sensation and intuition. I am drawn to and create scopes that do not treat opposing pairs as opposites. I feel that scopes are one of the few valuable tools that connect the heart and the brain. ..... A thrill for the brain and heart."

  • Note: Moving a light source around the cell end, instead of turning the scope, will also alter the imagery, as seen in the last three internal photographs. Additionally, if you point the scope at differently colored backgrounds, example a green wall, the sky, television screen, etc.) the imagery created will vary greatly too. This scope is perfect for experimenting!
