"Sun & Moon Diagram" is a magnificent one of a kind parlor kaleidoscope collaboration by Japanese artists Jun Kojima and Rika Kita. This scope features a lovingly detailed, handmade ceramic body with a Sun design on one side and a Moon design on the other, with an earthy, multi-colored glaze and fine gold detailing. The sliding, turning, dry object tube contains delicate, handmade glasswork pieces in both soft and vibrant colors, dichoric glass pieces, and other assorted beads and objects. This scope has an incredible 3-mirror system that creates gorgeous kaleidoscopic imagery. Scope sets onto a purple felted wood base that has a dust cover topper to protect the viewing lens while not in use, which is attached by a dainty chain.
Jun Kojima graduated from Tama Art University and has exhibited works in Karakow, Poland (2005). This artist considers making a kaleidoscope "alchemy", which leads the visitor to a different "dimensional world" the moment they look into the tiny eye piece.
