"Fading Moon - Rising Sun" is an absolutely marvelous handheld kaleidoscope by Japanese artist Chitoshi Takabayashi. The body is made with Walnut wood that has been finished to flawless, smooth perfection. There is a 2-mirror, 8-point system and a turning, oil-filled, front and side lit, object cell containing really cool handmade lampwork glass pieces that are rippled and wavy, almost like seaweed, with dichroic glass bits too. The mandala-style kaleidoscopic imagery produced by this scope is complete perfection, it was impossible to take a bad photo of the delicate, flowing, gorgeousness inside. Measures approximately 6.25"L x 3.25"Diameter at the turning end. Signed (Twok) and dated (2025) by the artist.
