'Ice Flowers' is a lovely vintage/collectors parlor kaleidoscope by American artists Bob & Grace Ade. The body and base were created from swirled slumped glass in purple/plum/ruby hues. This is a 2-mirror, 6-point system with a dry, front-lit, turning, polarized object cell that has a translucent iridescent glass background and contains lamp-worked glass pieces and many dichroic (color shifting) glass bits and slices which together create absolutely delightful, frosty, traditional "mandala-style" kaleidoscopic imagery. Entire piece measures approximately 8.75"T and 4.25"W x 5.25"D at the base, the scope itself is 9.25"L x 2.25"Diameter at the viewing end. Titled (Ice Flowers), dated (2004), numbered (#47), and signed (Ade) by the artist.
