'Journeys' is a mysterious little handheld kaleidoscope with a uniquely rustic vibe by Japanese artist Chitoshi Takabayashi. The body is a 'decagonal prism' (ten-sided) made from very old, naturally resourced wood pieces, each with deep texturing that is very pleasing to the touch. This body houses a 2-mirror, 3-point system with a 6-pointed frame and it has a turning, oil-filled, front & side lit, brown backgrounded object cell containing tiny and delicately handmade glasswork pieces in rich earthy colors which all together create absolutely mesmerizing and ever flowing "mandala-style" kaleidoscopic imagery.
