'Mandala' is a magical handheld kaleidoscope by Japanese artist Hiroshi Wakabayashi. The body is made from heat treated copper and features embellishments of Turquoise set into glittery polymer clay and stamped with the title 'MANDALA'. There is a turning, dry, front and side-lit, with a polarized (color shifting) filter, and the object cell contains delicately crafted (clear) birefringent bits & slices, teeny clear beads, and other little secrets, with a clear background. The intricate and colorful "mandala" patterns you see are created when shining light through the polarized filter inside, the effect is similar to a prism. Try using different light sources, such as LED lights, a UV Blacklight, incandescent, or even the Sun itself, each light produces different results! Scope measures approximately 7"L x 1.75"Diameter at the cell end. Available in either a 2-mirror system or a 3-mirror system.
