"Manzanita Burl Wood" is a fantastically rustic parlor kaleidoscope by American artist Steve Failows. The cone shaped ceramic kaleidoscope body is textured and has an earthy green and metallic copper glaze that is perfectly paired with the natural wood burl base. The freely rotating scope slides into an armature attached to the burl wood base which has been accented with Steve's otherworldly hand soldering technique, in copper. The duel spinning stained glass color wheels feature hand painted detailing on some of the panels and the scope's body houses a tapered 3-mirror system which creates cool 3-D spherical kaleidoscopic imagery, seen through a large viewing window. Piece measures approximately 13.5"T, base 8"W x 8"D, color wheel 5"Diameter, and scope itself 9.75"L x 3.5"Diameter at the viewing end.
