'Neo Cathedral' is a fun, UV blacklight reactive, handheld kaleidoscope by Japanese artist, MIKIO! This scope features hand painted art in vivid alcohol ink on holographic-glitter art paper, protected beneath the clear acrylic tubular body. The interior is a 3-mirror system with a non-turning, oil-filled, front and side lit object cell which contains an assortment of birefringent acrylic pieces and shards, handmade freeform foam shapes, lampwork glass pieces, bright beads, and other interesting items in neon colors. Additionally, this scope has a thin free-moving puck with a black filigree design that sits beneath the oil-filled cell, that shifts as you turn the scope and produces the incredible "stained-glass" effect you see in this exciting kaleidoscope. Measures approximately 6.25"L x 1.5"Diameter. Signed by the artist on the clear object cell end.
Note: Each of MIKIO's scope's outer designs are lovingly hand painted with alcohol ink and therefore each is completely one of a kind so variations in the body design can be expected. The interior and exterior of her scopes are designed to compliment and contrast each other, plus there is an interesting amount of experimental variation in the mirror systems of each unique piece.
