"Noir Lumiere" is a limited edition parlor kaleidoscope by Steve and Peggy Kittelson. "Noir Lumiere" means Black Light. There is a turning end, side-lit, fluid-filled object cell that contains only flame-sculpted dichroic pieces, both patterned and solid, and it has a black background. The barrel is black glass with a geometric design using iridized silver, gold and black squares. The complex pattern of the exterior was created by cutting individual pieces of glass which were fused in stages and then bent to form the shape. This scope sits on a comtemporary pedestal of solid Walnut. This piece measures 14"T x 12"L x 5-3/4"W at the base. The scope itself is 4" in diameter and 12"L. This scope has a 2-mirror system and it is signed (Peggy and Steve Kittelson), dated (1997), named (Noir Lumiere) and numbered (#2 of 10).
