'Picnic Set' (1992) is a vintage and delightfully whimsical duo of handheld kaleidoscopes by American artists Peter & Skeeter DeMattia. The set is a classic Heinz Ketchup bottle and a French's Mustard pot, both housing 3-Mirror, 3-Point systems, they each have an internal object chamber, dry, non-turning, end lit, containing handmade lamp-worked glass pieces in gemmy & bright colors. They adorably set into the included wicker condiment holder when not in use. Place this fun piece onto your BBQ serving table and watch your friends and family "Ooh and Ahh" as they peek inside. Uniquely different and sure to surprise! Approximate measurements; Ketchup 8"T x 2.5"W, and Mustard 4"T x 2.5"W. Each bottle is etch signed (S|P ♥) by the artists.
NOTE: The last photo in the 'Ketchup' internal photo series was taken with the light source shining in through the front/side, the image turned pinkish. The last two photos in the 'Mustard' internal photo series was taken with the light source shining in through the front/side, the image turned blueish/gold. Play with your light source direction, try in direct Sun, use a UV Black light, have fun!
Disclosure: This is a rare, 32 year old vintage collector's piece and shows age from time and use. There are some mirror lines and the ketchup bottle has a flaw in the bottle glass as seen in last image. Please call us with any questions.
