'Reflections of Friendship' COLLECTORS ALERT! (1990) #13/20, is an incredible vintage parlor kaleidoscope by American artists Randy & Shelly Knapp, in collaboration with American artist Sherry Moser. This piece is absolutely gorgeous without even peering inside, created in Bubinga and Wenge woods, with Dichroic (color shifting) glass panels (original design by Sherry Moser) surrounding the internal object chamber, it's quite stunning sculpturally. The body houses a 2-mirror, 5-point system and has a turning, side/front lit, dry, frosted dichroic backgrounded object chamber containing Shelly's absolutely gorgeous lamp-worked glass pieces and dichroic bits. Note the fancy soldering on the turning end; there are 4 slits that allow light into the chamber through the milky glass. Extending from the base is a handheld, mini flashlight that shines into the cell but I personally found it a little too bright, so removing it from the base you can move it around the cell from different angles and the result is utterly MESMERIZING! I didn't get a chance to try this scope in direct Sunlight, but I'm sure the result would be equally fantastic. The Knapp's kaleidoscopes are highly desired by scope collectors worldwide, do not miss your chance to own one of their rarer pieces. Measures approximately 10"T x 8.5"D x 4"W. Please NOTE: Each grouping of internal images are of the object cell UNTURNED, only the light source has been moved. I took about 100 internal images and could have showed each image of a different kaleidoscopic design, but thought it would be better to show how the dichroic panels surrounding the cell effect the imagery. This scope is in perfect condition, it is #13 of only 20 created, and is ready for someone to be spellbound by what it can do!
