'Talisman' is a UNIQUE vintage/collectors (2001) parlor kaleidoscope by American kaleidoscope creating masters, Peggy & Steve Kittelson. The turned hardwood body has areas carved out on each side with GORGEOUS fused glass set into them, inspired by Pacific Northwest Native art, designed to represent the artists; Steve the 'Bear' and the Peggy the 'Turtle'. Inside is a 2-mirror, 10-point system, with a turning, side lit, oil-filled, black backgrounded object cell containing Peggy's handmade lamp-worked glass pieces in hues that compliment the colors on the body design. Scope is attached to a wooden base with a leather underside, and has a tilt-adjustable brass component, allowing movement of the angle of the scope. This rare scope creates absolutely magnificent traditional "mandala-style" kaleidoscopic imagery. Scope measures approximately 12.25"T x 12"L x 2.75"Diameter at the cell end and the base is 7.75"Diameter. Titled (Talisman), numbered (#6 of 10), dated (2001), and signed (Peggy & Steve Kittelson) by the artists.
