"Twilight" is a magnificent parlor kaleidoscope by Japanese master creator, Motohiro Sato. This scope has a blown glass body in a swirl of oranges and lime greens over white, mounted on a stunning, clear glassworked base with orange/green swirls inside. The smooth turning, oil-filled object chamber of the kaleidoscope is also glass, filled with delicate handmade lampworked glass and dichoric glass bits and pieces. This scope also has a removeable (by magnets!) clear, frosted background disk that contains two, dry, moving dichoric slices. The object cell of this scope is part of Sato's "Ayaka-ge" series of cells, which we believe translates to mean "like a colorful flower". Sato encourages people to view these scopes in front of a bright white background. Photos in this listing include internal images with and without the removeable background disk. I also shot images in both a white and a black environment to show the many variations "Twilight" is capable of. This is a meticulous 3-mirror system which produces perfect, glorious, delicate and colorful imagery. The entire piece measures approximately 12.5"T x 10"L x 4.75"W at the base.
