'Twilight' is a fun little handheld kaleidoscope by American artist Sue Rioux. The body was created in stained glass panels, available in Iridescent Silver or Matte Black, each accented with blue glass rods and an iridescent blue glass pebble. Each 'Twilight' is a 3-mirror system and features TWO interchangeable, oil-filled, turning glass object cylinders containing various bits of colorful glass, dichroic (color shifting) glass pieces, a plethora of colorful beads, twisted wires, and natural seashells. This fun little scope creates absolutely GORGEOUS "full-view' kaleidoscopic imagery. Measures approximately 5.75"L x 1.75"W x 1.25"T, and the object cylinders are just under 3"L. Titled (Twilight), Dated (2026), and signed (Sue Rioux) by the artist.
Note: The last 7 internal images show how moving a light source (such as a mini flashlight) around the cell WITHOUT turning the cell, will drastically alter the image. There are many possibilities for playing with this scope as I also discovered the cells are UV black light reactive.
