'World in a Tube' is a magical handheld kaleidoscope by Japanese artist Chikako Ishida. A wonderfully simple, tubular design in delicate crystal clear glass, the body houses a 3-mirror system which is completely visible and tapered. The object end grabs light reflected from crumpled, polarized, birefringent film and small pieces of loose glass beads, which together create absolutely shimmery and colorful "starburst" kaleidoscopic imagery. Scope measures approximately 8"L x 1"Diameter at the eyepiece end and includes a custom made clear acrylic stand.
