This is "World in a Tube", a handheld kaleidoscope by Japanese artist Chikako Ishida. It is a wonderfully simple design in acrylic that comes with an acrylic stand. There is a visible tapered 3-mirror system that captures light refelcted from dichroic film and a small piece of blue glass. This scope creates an absolutely amazing starburst type image that is varied, shimmery and very colorful. This scope measures 8"L x 1-1/8" in diameter at the eyepiece end. The stand is 2-1/2"T x 2-3/8"W x 1-3/4"deep.
