'Garnet Firefly Kaleidoplane' is a 34 year old VINTAGE, whimsical, airplane themed, handheld kaleidoscope from the "Jewels in the Air" collection by American artist, Greg Hanks. The pilot's "cockpit" is a clear dichroic glass panel that catches the sun will shift colors right before your eyes. There is an apparatus attached to the top of the plane with a loop, making it easy to hang in a window and enjoy as a sculptural piece. The body houses a 3-mirror, 3-point system and the object cell contains assorted colorful glass shards and chips, brass jump-rings, glass rods, dichroic glass pieces, and other beads and bits. This scope is in PERFECT condition and creates absolutely cheerful "full-view" kaleidoscopic imagery. Measures approximately 6.5"L x 11.25"W x 6.75"T including the hanging apparatus, and the object cell is around 2.5"Diameter. Dated (7/'92), numbered (#23/200), and signed (©Greg Hanks) by the artist.
