"Colossal Amethyst" is a spectacular parlor kaleidoscope by Steve Failows. The body of this handmade, cone-shaped kaleidoscope is ceramic with a swirling, purple rainbow luster glaze. The body sets onto a one of a kind, natural Amethyst crystal cluster base, with detailed hand-soldering. This scope has two colorful painted, textured, and stained glass object wheels, and features a larger than usual viewing port which allows for easy viewing of the beautiful imagery they create. This kaleidoscope rotates 360° over the Amethyst cluster and is easily removeable simply by lifting it up and off of the base itself. Scope is a tapered 3-mirror system which produces fantastic 3-D spherical imagery. Entire piece measures approximately "19T x 14 1/2"L x 13 1/4"W at the base. The scopoe itself measures approximately 15"L x 7"D at the viewing port end, and the object wheel 6 1/4"D.
