Product Details
'High Roller' is a 30 year old, limited edition (COLLECTORS ALERT!), parlor/handheld kaleidoscope by renowned scope maker and stained glass artist, Janice Chesnik. This handsome piece has a highly polished, solid Brass body that is an oblong oval shape with textured areas on the surface of each side. Inside you'll find a spectacular 2-mirror, 12-point system. There are four interchangeable object wheels, created with the Chesnik's own handmade millefiori-style glass pieces, stained glass, and dichroic (color shifting) glass. This kaleidoscope can be viewed as both a parlor OR a handheld scope, simply by lifting it off of its gorgeous walnut wooden base. Utterly stunning, crystal clear, classic "mandala-style" kaleidoscopic imagery can be seen inside of this wonderful, vintage work of art. Entire piece measures approximately 9.25"T x 9"D x 4"W at the base. Scope itself is 10.25"L x 2.25"T x 1"W, and the wheels are about 3"Diameter. Dated (©1996), numbered (#240/250), and signed (Janice Chesnik) by the artist.
NOTE: The last set of eleven internal images shows the object wheels completely UNTURNED, only the direction of the light source has been changed. This shows how playing with light will color shift the imagery inside of this magnificent kaleidoscope. You can also try using a UV Black Light or viewing under direct Sunlight, experiment and have fun!
