'Suitcase Full of Blues' is a vintage/collectors (1996), uniquely whimsical, TRIPLE handheld kaleidoscope by American artists Carmen & Stephen Colley. This extremely rare piece features a stone panther that has been adorned with everything he needs for travel, including; a camera hanging from his neck, a small suitcase on his hips, a palm tree on his back, sunglasses to protect his green crystal eyes, he carries a passport and a larger suitcase (which houses THREE kaleidoscopes) in his mouth. This delightful kitty is ready to explore the double turning object wheels through the triple scopes, each with it's own, differing, 3-mirror system. The object wheels are some of the prettiest I've seen on a small scope, with Millefiori glass slices, dichroic (color shifting) glass that has been etched with musical notes and lyrics, and faceted gemstones. The vivid kaleidoscopic imagery you will see is MUCH nicer than the camera could capture! Measures approximately 8"L x 3.5"W x 3.25"T and is titled (Suitcase Full of Blues), dated ('96), and signed (Colley) by the artists.
